Boy, you guys ask the best questions in the world! And a bunch of you wanted to know just what’s going to be in this “sneak peek” release on the 7th.

Well…it’s going to be a comprehensive overview of the principles I’ve discovered, developed, borrowed or stolen from my own business experience and other freelancers (writers and other freelancers, as well). I’ll be outlining ten basic principles, and then giving you examples of how to put those principles into practice for your own freelance business.

And, no, it’s not going to include the things I mention in Boot Camp or 10 Days to Paid. Well—it will in that I will lay out the principles behind those methods…but I’ll be giving you other examples of how to put them into practice.

These principles really will help you develop a better understanding of how to get paying work—work that you’re likely overlooking right now.  Some are based on tried-and-true business models that have been around for ages, and some are based on new models currently being used on the Net. And more than a few are strategies I developed on my own when the whole “wilderness survival” angle was just taking shape, and I started applying the methods for finding water in the wild to my attempts to find paying work.

And, yes, I will be writing this in the “wilderness survival” context. In the wild, there are many, many ways to obtain water that are both ingenious and surprisingly simple, from “harvesting rainwater” to “collecting dew.” You can even “make” water in the desert and on tropical islands with no apparent source of fresh water (drinking salt water can be deadly). There is no reason anyone should ever die of thirst in the wild, with a (very) few rare exceptions.

And the same is true of paying work. There is absolutely no reason a writer should have trouble keeping the lights on and food on the table. And getting paid to write is a simple process once you understand the survival principles associated with finding water, such as:

…these are just a few of the sections we’ll cover in this chapter, and they each relate to real, workable ways to find and get paid writing gigs. And you can see them all on Monday.

Thanks, and keep the questions coming!
